Quick start

  1. Launch the PerioChart web app from your browser; no install required.
  2. Select a visual style from the toolbar. Realistic works well for patient discussions and Abstract keeps data entry minimal.

Choose your view Toolbar toggle for switching between Realistic and Abstract modes.

  1. Set tooth status by clicking any tooth label to cycle Present -> Missing -> Implant.

  1. Kick off measurements with the dropdown menu. Pick Pocket depth, Recession, Bleeding, Plaque, Suppuration, Mobility, or Furcation.

  1. Click a site, enter a value, press Enter to follow the default navigation pattern automatically.

  2. Export as PDF or JSON once charting is complete for records and continuity of care.

Tip: Configure branding and patient information before the first session so every export is ready as soon as you finish capturing measurements.

Measuring workflow

  • Use Start with... to choose the first parameter; the interface updates shortcuts and validation rules.
  • Follow the default quadrant navigation to keep teams aligned:
    1. Upper jaw - Buccal: Quadrant 1 posterior -> Quadrant 2 posterior.
    2. Upper jaw - Palatal: Quadrant 1 posterior -> Quadrant 2 posterior.
    3. Lower jaw - Buccal: Quadrant 4 posterior -> Quadrant 3 buccal.
    4. Lower jaw - Lingual: Quadrant 4 posterior -> Quadrant 3 posterior.
  • Quadrant numbers follow FDI notation: Q1 (upper right), Q2 (upper left), Q3 (lower left), Q4 (lower right).
  • Measurements stay in the browser. Export JSON whenever you need to move data between devices.

Navigation hint: Arrow keys let you correct or skip sites without leaving the preset traversal order.


Visual indicators

  • Pocket depth (PD): 1-3 mm clear, 4-5 mm orange, 6 mm or more red, with a blue highlight for the active site. Visual indicators

Export and share

  • Print or save as PDF to create branded records, referral packs, or patient handouts.
  • Export JSON to archive data or pass results to compatible systems.
  • Import JSON to resume charting or revisit previous sessions with full fidelity.

Storage note: Everything stays in the browser until you export. Download a PDF or JSON if you need copies outside the current device.


Branding and patient info

  • Open Settings -> Branding to upload your logo and clinic details so every export reflects your identity.

  • Add Patient information (name, ID, notes) to keep PDFs and JSON organized for your admin team.
