It opens on a phone, with no account
A scanned code lands on a phone, so the shared chart is not the wide charting grid. It is the same case, laid out to be read.

A QR that opens the chart, not the tool
A code pointing at the tool would send a colleague to an empty chart. This one carries the case, which is the only thing worth scanning a referral for.
- It matches the paper it is printed on
- A link is a snapshot of the chart at the moment you sent it. Edit the chart afterwards and the next export leaves the code off rather than printing one that resolves to different numbers.
- It outlives the visit
- Links do not expire, because a referral in a file may be scanned at a recall visit years later. Signed in, you can withdraw one yourself.
