Periodontal charting software that runs in your browser
Chart a full mouth, read the summary as you go, keep every patient's history and print the report. Nothing to install, and charting is free.
Everything a periodontal exam records
The full six-site chart for all thirty-two teeth, in the order you probe, with the chart moving to the next site as soon as you type a value.
- Six sites on every tooth
- Three buccal and three lingual or palatal sites per tooth, 192 in a full mouth. Pocket depth from 0 to 16 mm and recession from -10 to 16 mm.
- Bleeding, plaque and suppuration
- Marked per site with one key each. Pressing the key again clears the mark, so a mis-hit costs nothing.
- Mobility and furcation
- Mobility graded 0 to 3 per tooth. Furcation graded I to III, only on the sites where each tooth actually has one, including both palatal sites on upper molars.
- Missing teeth, implants and pontics
- Set each tooth's status once. Missing teeth and pontics are skipped as you chart, and implants are drawn as implants.
- FDI or Universal numbering
- Switch between FDI and the 1 to 32 Universal system at any time. The PDF follows whichever one is showing.
- Built for the keyboard
- Type a number and the chart advances. Arrow keys move by hand and Backspace clears, so your hands stay on the keys for the whole mouth.
The numbers you would otherwise add up by hand
The summary updates with every value you enter. Percentages count only the sites you have recorded, so a partial chart is never diluted by the sites you have not reached yet.
- Bleeding, plaque and suppuration
- Each as a percentage of the recorded sites. Bleeding on probing is the number to watch fall after treatment.
- Pocket depth
- The mean depth, the share of sites at 4 mm or deeper, and the deepest pocket in the mouth.
- Clinical attachment level
- Pocket depth plus recession at every site where both are recorded. Shown as a mean and as the share of sites at 5 mm or more.
- Recession
- The mean recession across the mouth. A negative value means the gum margin sits above the cementoenamel junction.
One record per patient, visit after visit
Save a chart to a patient and it joins their history. The next exam is compared with the last one, so you can see what treatment changed.
Patients and their charts
A patient list with every chart they have had, saved automatically as you type. Archive a patient you no longer see and restore a chart deleted by mistake.
Progression across visits
Bleeding, plaque, pocket depth, attachment level and deep sites drawn as trends over every saved exam for that patient.
Re-evaluation reminders
Each new chart proposes a re-evaluation in 6 weeks, or pick 4 weeks, 3 months or 6 months. A banner and an email tell you when it is due.
A summary the patient understands
Turn a saved chart into a plain-language visit summary with a tooth map, in the patient's language, to print or send as a link.
From the chair to the report
The chart leaves the software in the form the next person needs: a printed report, a link for a colleague, or the same chart on your phone.
- A PDF with your practice on it
- The chart and its summary in one report, with your clinic name, contact details and logo, and a QR code that opens the chart.
- Odontogram alongside
- Caries, fillings, crowns, root canals and extractions on an odontogram over the same teeth, with its own PDF.
- Send it to a colleague
- Share a chart as a link or a QR code. It opens on any phone without an account, and you can revoke it later.
- Open it on your phone
- Scan a QR code and the saved chart you are working on opens on your phone, under the same account.
Free to chart, free to keep five patients
Most of the software is free. Pro is for practices that follow more than five patients or want to chart by voice.
- No account
- Chart a full mouth, read the summary and print the PDF. Nothing to sign up for, so you can start this minute.
- Free account
- Save up to 5 patients with unlimited charts on each, progression over time, re-evaluation reminders and PDF export. No card required.
- Pro
- Unlimited patients, voice charting in English, French and German, and treatment simulation. Billed weekly, monthly or yearly.
What it does not do
It is charting software, not a whole practice system. Better to know now than after you have charted a patient.
- No scheduling or billing
- There is no appointment book, invoicing or insurance claim. It sits beside the system you already use for those.
- No automatic diagnosis
- It calculates the summary but does not assign a stage or grade. The diagnosis stays with you.
- No radiographs
- It records clinical measurements. X-rays and imaging stay in the software that holds them today.
Questions about the software
- Is the periodontal charting software free?
- Charting is free with no account. A free account keeps up to 5 patients, with unlimited charts on each, progression and PDF export. Pro adds unlimited patients, voice charting and treatment simulation.
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. It runs in a current browser on a computer or a tablet. There is nothing to download and no update to run, and every device you sign in on sees the same patients.
- Which tooth numbering does it use?
- Both FDI and the 1 to 32 Universal system. Switch between them above the chart at any time, and the PDF export follows whichever one is showing.
- Can I print or export a chart?
- Yes. Each chart exports as a PDF with its summary, your clinic name, contact details and logo, and a QR code that reopens the chart. The odontogram has its own PDF.
- Does it calculate periodontitis staging and grading?
- No. It calculates bleeding, plaque and suppuration percentages, mean pocket depth, sites at 4 mm or deeper and clinical attachment level. Staging and grading stay a clinical decision.
- Can I chart by voice?
- Yes, with Pro. Call out the readings while you probe, in English, French or German, and they land on the chart. Corrections and jumps to a tooth are spoken too.
